Record #214027:

Response of lacustrine biota to Late Holocene climate and environmental conditions in northernmost Ungava (Canada) / Émilie Saulnier-Talbot, and 3 others.

Title: Response of lacustrine biota to Late Holocene climate and environmental conditions in northernmost Ungava (Canada) / Émilie Saulnier-Talbot, and 3 others.
Author(s): Saulnier-Talbot, Émilie.
Date: 2015.
In: Arctic. (2015.), Vol. 68(2) (2015)
Abstract: Examines sediment cores from three lakes in northernmost region of Ungava, Quebec, to define aquatic community and ecosystem variability during Late Holocene period. Uses chironomid-based transfer function to reconstruct August air temperature trends, and infers lacustrine primary production from sedimentary biogenic silica content and siliceous microfossil abundances. Compares trends in primary production, sediment organic matter content and chironomid-inferred temperature to investigate potential effects of environmental change on biotic assemblage composition.
