Record #214007:

Regional seismic wave propagation (Lg & Sn phases) in the Amerasia Basin and High Arctic / Karen Chiu, David B. Snyder.

Title: Regional seismic wave propagation (Lg & Sn phases) in the Amerasia Basin and High Arctic / Karen Chiu, David B. Snyder.
Author(s): Chiu, Karen.
Snyder, David B.
Date: 2015.
In: Polar Science. (2015.), Vol. 9(1) (2015)
Abstract: Presents reassessment of Lg seismic wave propagation across Amerasia Basin, Arctic Ocean, using earthquakes recorded over past 25 years to update study published in 1955. Characterises continental or non-continental crust and related structures across basin and surrounding continental areas of High Arctic. Numerous paths crossing basin re-establish that Lg propagation was blocked, but some coincident paths show Lg-like phases propagating with uncharacteristically low frequencies.
Notes:

Special issue: Recent advances in polar seismology : global impact of the International Polar Year.
