Record #213647:

Exploring the North in a changing climate: the Little Ice Age and the journals of Henry Hudson, 1607-1611 / Dagomar Degroot.

Title: Exploring the North in a changing climate: the Little Ice Age and the journals of Henry Hudson, 1607-1611 / Dagomar Degroot.
Author(s): Degroot, Dagomar.
Date: 2015.
In: Journal of Northern Studies. (2015.), Vol. 9(1) (2015)
Abstract: Discusses influence of Little Ice Age in Arctic, as recorded in journals kept by Henry Hudson and his crew during voyages undertaken between 1607 and 1611. Journals provide detailed information on environmental conditions and human responses, and also demonstrate how voyages of northern exploration were affected by complex and even counterintuitive relationships between global climate change and its local environmental manifestations.
