Abstract: | Uses patterns in radar-detected internal layers in glaciers and ice streams to delineate flowbands of Thwaites Glacier in Amundsen Sea sector of West Antarctica. Compares recent radar-detected flow directions with 2007-08 GPS-detected and 1996 InSAR-detected flow directions. Performs flux balance analysis using InSAR-derived velocities, radar-detected ice thickness, and estimates of accumulation rate. Discusses reasons for velocity uncertainty. |
