Abstract: Compares processed and depth-converted data from reflection seismic survey carried out on Alpine glacier Colle Gnifetti, Italy, to that of nearby ice core. Shows discrepancy between P-wave and SH-wave bed reflection. Calculation of anisotropic wave velocities reveals error introduced by assuming isotropy. Systematic difference allows possibility of deriving information about anisotropic fabric.
