Abstract: Presents exploratory phytolith study on residues from soapstone fragments retrieved from 18th-century Inuit winter site Dog-Island-Oakes Bay I (HeCg-08), Labrador. Results demonstrate potential value of archaeobotanical research in advancing understanding of historic human and plant interactions and offer insights into Labrador Inuit subsistence practices in past.
