Abstract: History of ill-fated dog-sled patrol undertaken by Francis J. Fitzgerald and three fellow officers of Royal North-West Mounted Police in 1910, based on Fitzgerald's daily journal entries. Intended journey was from Fort McPherson (NWT) to Dawson City (Yukon) but, despite heroic efforts to survive, all officers froze to death in particularly harsh weather.
