Vegetation recovery patterns following permafrost disturbance in a Low Arctic setting: case study of Herschel Island, Yukon, Canada / Heather A. Cray, Wayne H. Pollard.
Title: | Vegetation recovery patterns following permafrost disturbance in a Low Arctic setting: case study of Herschel Island, Yukon, Canada / Heather A. Cray, Wayne H. Pollard. |
Author(s): | Cray, Heather A. Pollard, Wayne H. |
Date: | 2015. |
In: | Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2015.), Vol. 47(1) (2015) |
Abstract: | Describes process of succession following stabilisation of series of retrogressive thaw slumps on Herschel Island, and assesses potential of long-term effects of thaw slump disturbances on tundra ecosystem. Discusses responses of tundra vegetation to disturbance and identifies indicator species corresponding to various stages of revegetation. |
