Record #212235:

Upper bounds on subglacial channel development for interior regions of the Greenland Ice Sheet / C.F. Dow, and 4 others.

Title: Upper bounds on subglacial channel development for interior regions of the Greenland Ice Sheet / C.F. Dow, and 4 others.
Author(s): Dow, C. F.
Date: 2014.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (2014.), Vol. 60(224) (2014)
Abstract: Uses simple numerical model to test whether surface water influx to bed of interior Greenland Ice Sheet has potential to cause significant subglacial channel growth similar to that observed near ice sheet margin and at alpine glaciers. Examines effect on channel growth from rapid supraglacial lake drainage events, and sustained water input into moulins. Discusses possible importance of other drainage mechanisms such as turbulent sheets or linked-cavity networks.
