Record #212153:

In the cold light of day / Patrick Wingrove.

Title: In the cold light of day / Patrick Wingrove.
Author(s): Wingrove, Patrick.
Date: 2015.
Publisher: London: English Heritage
Abstract: Examines circumstances surrounding deaths of Sir John Franklin and his crew between 1847 and 1848. Discoveries in 1980s confirmed initial Inuit reports of cannibalism among crew, together with suggestion of lead poisoning. This latter theory has been strengthened by examination of wreck of Franklin's ship Erebus, discovered in 2014. Previous theories, that crew succumbed to scurvy and tuberculosis, are now discounted.
