Record #212122:

Evaluating potential effects of an industrial road on winter habitat of caribou in north-central Alaska / Ryan R. Wilson, David D. Gustine, Kyle Joly.

Title: Evaluating potential effects of an industrial road on winter habitat of caribou in north-central Alaska / Ryan R. Wilson, David D. Gustine, Kyle Joly.
Author(s): Wilson, Ryan R.
Gustine, David D.
Joly, Kyle.
Date: 2014.
In: Arctic. (2014.), Vol. 67(1) (2014)
Abstract: Assesses reduction in caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou) habitat value associated with three proposed routes for new road in northern Alaska. Results suggest that road would have minimal direct effects on high-value winter habitat; however, additional cumulative impacts on caribou (e.g. increased recreational and hunting access) should also be considered before full effects of road can be estimated.
