Abstract: Compares reported cold season precipitation observations to those delivered by Voyeykov Main Geophysical Observatory, Assesses differences in climatology and trends when reported data are used instead of bias-corrected precipitation. Focuses on two major types of snow event: snow falling in shoulder seasons when surface air temperature is not far from 0° C; and snow event during storms accompanied by strong winds. Concludes that Eurasian climate has noticeably changed especially in Asian Arctic in relation to earlier snowmelt.
