In: Understanding the linkages between Antarctic food webs and the environment : a synthesis of Southern Ocean GLOBEC studies. (2011.), Vol. 58(13-16) (2011)
Abstract: Uses regional circulation model of Bellingshausen Sea and waters off west Antarctic Peninsula to study timing and forcing mechanisms of transport of Circumpolar Deep Water (CDW) onto continental shelf. Compares evolution of CDW on shelf and heat transport to base of ice shelves, with CDW intrusions in regional circulation model of Ross Sea. Discusses potential impacts of these intrusions on biological processes.
