| Abstract: | Discusses state of deep ice borehole 5G at Vostok station, Antarctica, after 2012 penetration to surface water of subglacial Lake Vostok, with resulting rise of lake water via borehole. Proposes that rise of lake water is due to hydraulic fracture of borehole, with diversion of drilling fluid. |
