Abstract: Describes laser delivery and beam dump thermal design of cryobot prototype developed by Very-deep Autonomous Laser-powered Kilowatt-class Yo-yoing Robotic Ice Explorer (VALKYRIE) project to penetrate outer planet ice caps and terrestrial glaciers. Further development may permit clean access to subglacial lakes.
