Record #211475:

Environmental controls and geomorphic importance of a high-magnitude/low-frequency snow avalanche event in Bødalen, Nordfjord, western Norway / Katja Laute, Achim A. Beylich.

Title: Environmental controls and geomorphic importance of a high-magnitude/low-frequency snow avalanche event in Bødalen, Nordfjord, western Norway / Katja Laute, Achim A. Beylich.
Author(s): Laute, Katja.
Beylich, Achim A.
Date: 2014.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (2014.), Vol. 96(4) (2014)
Abstract: Combines mapping of extension and runout distance of extreme high magnitude/low frequency avalanche event with spatial data analysis of possible morphometric controls. Explores meteorological conditions predisposing to avalanche, assesses geomorphic effects and examines relative role in mass transport compared to annually monitored avalanche activity in same catchment.
