Abstract: | Studies Capercaillie population in flat taiga of NW Russia in 1980-2008. Based on age-structure of skulls collected in native forest areas and also in adjacent logged areas. Notes emigration of young cocks to from native into logged areas and reverse movement of mature birds, hypothetically due to high population density. |
