Abstract: Offers qualitative field observations made during austral summers 2004-05 and 2006-07 in Schirmacher Oasis and Bharati Promontory, Larsemann Hills, East Antarctica, which are currently ice-free coastal areas exposed in physiographically different periglacial environments. Documents sedimentary processes involving glacial, glaciofluvial, and aeolian factors, and uses scanning electron microscopy of quartz grains and granulometry to pinpoint transfer mechanisms of sediment, particularly through glaciers and East Antarctic Ice Sheet from Quaternary to present.
