Record #211102:

Quantifying velocity response to ocean tides and calving near the terminus of Jakobshavn Isbrae, Greenland / David Podrasky, and 3 others.

Title: Quantifying velocity response to ocean tides and calving near the terminus of Jakobshavn Isbrae, Greenland / David Podrasky, and 3 others.
Author(s): Podrasky, David.
Date: 2014.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (2014.), Vol. 60(222) (2014)
Abstract: Examines 14 days of high-time-resolution motion data recorded in near-terminus region of Jakobshavn Isbrae in August 2009, which include major calving event. Uses two simple models for explaining dynamic glacier response to ocean tidal forcing and to single large iceberg-calving event, to estimate strength of variations attributable to these two modes of forcing. Compares these responses to background motion.
