Abstract: Present finite element analysis model of seven span continuous conductors and insulators of ultra high voltage transmission line in heavy icing area for ice shedding analysis. Parameters considered include damping ratio, ice shedding ratio, ice shedding modes and ice thickness. Dynamic responses include jumping heights, unbalanced tensions, and vertical loads at end of insulator.
