Abstract: | Discusses contributions of Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) towards understanding of Gulf Stream and North Atlantic Current. BIO's moorings have provided quantitative estimates of volume and heat transport of all major current systems within north-west Atlantic. In addition, BIO has conducted extensive surveys of Labrador Sea, Baffin Bay and eastern Canadian Arctic. |
