Record #210700:

Equilibration of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current by standing meanders / Andrew F. Thompson.

Title: Equilibration of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current by standing meanders / Andrew F. Thompson.
Author(s): Thompson, Andrew F.
Date: 2014.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2014.), Vol. 44(7) (2014)
Abstract: Uses high-resolution eddy-resolving Ocean General Circulation Model for Earth Simulator (OFES) to attempt to link observed insensitivity of isopycnal slope of Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) to notable alongstream variability in ACC properties. Discusses role of flexing of ACC's dominant standing meanders. Further examines eddy properties across small number of meanders, focusing on vertical structure of flow.
