Abstract: | Presents observations of invasion by Dryas octopetala of disturbed area adjacent to snowbed-fellfield gradient containing spatially ecotypes. Assesses genetically-based phenotypic variation within disturbed area relative to that observed in adjacent tundra communities to test hypothesis that disturbed zones would allow relaxation of selection and, potentially, more rapid evolution in response to environmental change. |
