Record #210564:

The hydrological system of Storglaciären, Sweden: integrating modelling with observations / Andrew G. Williamson.

Title: The hydrological system of Storglaciären, Sweden: integrating modelling with observations / Andrew G. Williamson.
Author(s): Williamson, Andrew G.
Date: 2014.
Publisher: Cambridge :
Abstract: Applies physically-based glacier hydrology model to predominantly temperate Storglaciären, Sweden, forced with 2012 empirical data, to inform knowledge of runoff and permit future projections. Model includes three sub-elements: surface energy balance model, to generate meltwater; surface-routing model, transferring meltwater across glacier surface to edges or into moulins; and subglacial hydrology model, routing meltwater from moulins to glacier terminus to produce proglacial discharge. Evaluates components with field measurements and comparisons with previous studies. Model generates continuous basal water pressure for entire summer for this glacier.
Notes:

Unpublished thesis submitted for degree of Master of Philosophy, University of Cambridge.
