Record #210342:

Sensitivity investigation of the SDWBA Antarctic krill target strength model to fatness, material contrasts and orientation / L. Calise, G. Skaret.

Title: Sensitivity investigation of the SDWBA Antarctic krill target strength model to fatness, material contrasts and orientation / L. Calise, G. Skaret.
Author(s): Calise, L.
Skaret, G.
Date: 2011.
In: CCAMLR Science. (2011.), Vol. 18 (2011)
Abstract: Describes use of stochastic version of distorted-wave Born approximation (SDWBA) model endorsed by CCAMLR to predict acoustic target strength from fluid-like marine organisms such as krill. Explores SDWBA target strength pattern and frequency response behaviours at standard survey frequencies and animal lengths via sensitivity analysis of parameters including fatness factor, material contrasts between organism and seawater, and distribution of animal orientations. Discusses need for further development of model.
