Abstract: Explores potential for Inuit ethnographic collections to contribute to collaborative archaeology. Presents study in which group of Inuit elders were invited to share knowledge about objects of everyday life that had been collected from Canadian Inuit during first half of 20th century. Aim was to improve understanding of social meanings of hunting equipment, sewing tools, household utensils and various other personal items during this period, in order to assist archaeological analyses of analogical Thule artefacts.
