| Abstract: | Brief report on study published by Gottfried in Nature Climate Change, 2012, describing approximately 900 plant samples from 60 peaks in 17 European countries to examine changes in vegetation between 2001 and 2008, as part of Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine environments (GLORIA). Study reveals decline of more cold-adapted species and increased abundance of warm-adapted species, process named as thermophilization. |
