Record #209268:

Uncertainties in retrieved ice thickness from freeboard measurements due to surface melting / Peng Lu, Zhijun Li.

Title: Uncertainties in retrieved ice thickness from freeboard measurements due to surface melting / Peng Lu, Zhijun Li.
Author(s): Lu, Peng.
Li, Zhijun.
Date: 2014.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (2014.), Vol. 55(66) (2014)
Abstract: Presents theoretical model developed to investigate uncertainty in ice thickness retrieval by airborne and spaceborne remote sensing, due to surface melting. Finds that melting ice has lower mean thickness than ice without melting surface, but same freeboard because of loss of floe weight.
