Record #209221:

The most northerly black witch (Ascalapha odorata): a tropical moth in the Canadian Arctic / Torbjørn Ekrem, and 3 others.

Title: The most northerly black witch (Ascalapha odorata): a tropical moth in the Canadian Arctic / Torbjørn Ekrem, and 3 others.
Author(s): Ekrem, Torbjørn.
Date: 2014.
In: Canadian Field-Naturalist. (2014.), Vol. 128(1) (2014)
Abstract: Reports collection of specimen of black witch (Ascalapha odorata) in August 2006 near Churchill, Manitoba. This represents most northerly record for species. Haplotype of Churchill specimen is shared by only one other individual (collected in Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico) in Barcode of Life Data Systems. Definite assignment of geographic origin of Churchill specimen is not possible with current data, but more extensive analysis of Central American populations with additional genetic markers might resolve uncertainty.
