Late Ordovician carbonate mounds from northern Greenland: a peri-Laurentian dimension to the Boda Event? / David Alexander Taylor Harper, Jisuo Jin, Christian Mac Ørum Rasmussen.

Title: Late Ordovician carbonate mounds from northern Greenland: a peri-Laurentian dimension to the Boda Event? / David Alexander Taylor Harper, Jisuo Jin, Christian Mac Ørum Rasmussen.
Author(s): Harper, David Alexander Taylor.

Date: 2014.
In: GFF. (2014.), Vol. 136(1) (2014)
Abstract: Describes Late Katian (Late Ordovician) carbonate mudmounds in Turesø Formation, Peary Land, north Greenland. Individual mounds rarely exceed 1 m in height, generally forming flattened, domal structures with undulating top. Mudmounds succeed normal marine faunas and are themselves succeeded by organic-rich, largely barren limestones. This peri-Laurentian succession suggests deteriorating environmental conditions from normal marine to more restricted basing during Late Katian and Hirnantian, against background of gradual marine regression following peak of Boda Warming Event.
