Abstract: Investigates ice-ocean system using winter 2009-10 observations from first ice-tethered profiler equipped with velocity sensor. Correlates fluctuations in surface winds with ice velocity and ocean velocity at 7-m depth. Finds that increased internal wave activity is associated with changes to stratifications within surface mixed layer and turbulent fluxes of heat and salt just below ice-ocean interface.
