Abstract: Simulates Weddell Polynya of mid-1970s in energy balance model coupled to sea ice-ocean generation circulation model with abrupt 20% increase in intensity of Southern Hemisphere westerlies, to mimic upshift of that period. Model simulation covers 100-year period.
