Record #208563:
Seismic surface wave dispersion on the Antarctic Ice Cap and adjacent floating ice - a preliminary study / Edwin S. Robinson.
Title: | Seismic surface wave dispersion on the Antarctic Ice Cap and adjacent floating ice - a preliminary study / Edwin S. Robinson. |
Author(s): | Robinson, Edwin S. |
Date: | 1965. |
Publisher: | Salt Lake City, UT: University of Utah. Department of Geophysics |
Abstract: | Reviews available data pertinent to study of dispersive waves, tentatively identifies and describes various dispersive waves, and presents limited quantitative analysis. Draws on data from oversnow journeys including 2500-km Ross Ice Shelf Traverse, 1800-km McMurdo to South Pole Traverse, and 1400-km South Pole Traverse. Discusses discrepancies between observed and theoretical dispersion and avenues for further study. |
