Changes in Evermann's rock ptarmigan density on an eastern potion of Attu Island, Alaska, 2003-2009 / Clait E. Braun, William P. Taylor, Steve E. Ebbert.
Title: | Changes in Evermann's rock ptarmigan density on an eastern potion of Attu Island, Alaska, 2003-2009 / Clait E. Braun, William P. Taylor, Steve E. Ebbert. |
Author(s): | Braun, Clait E. Taylor, William P. Ebbert, Steve E. |
Date: | 2014. |
In: | Northwestern Naturalist. (2014.), Vol. 95(1) (2014) |
Abstract: | Documents changes in spring density of Evermann's rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta evermanni) on portion of Attu Island, Alaska, from 2003-2009. Finds overall decrease of approx. 97% from 2003-2009. Concludes that most reasonable explanation for decline is poor recruitment of young to spring population, possibly related to natural population cycles. |
Notes: | Northwestern Naturalist. Vol. 95(1) :28-34 (2014). |
