Spatial distribution of management measures, Antarctic krill catch and Southern Ocean bioregions: implications for conservation planning / S.M. Grant, S.L. Hill, P.T. Fretwell.
Title: | Spatial distribution of management measures, Antarctic krill catch and Southern Ocean bioregions: implications for conservation planning / S.M. Grant, S.L. Hill, P.T. Fretwell. |
Author(s): | Grant, S. M. Hill, S. L. Fretwell, P. T. |
Date: | 2013. |
In: | CCAMLR Science. (2013.), Vol. 20 (2013) |
Abstract: | Assesses overlap between habitat (bioregion), existing spatial management, and Antarctic krill, Euphausia superba, catch in Southern Ocean in 2010-12, with view to assisting conservation planning. Uses standardised information on location and extent of spatial fisheries management measures, delivered through geographical information systems. Includes Scotia Sea and southern Drake Passage, where most of krill catch occurs. |
