| Abstract: | Describes characteristics of Arctic air temperature during First International Polar Year 1882/83 based on hourly data gathered from eight weather stations throughout Arctic region. Data is assumed to be reliable as first international Arctic expeditions to conduct standardised meteorological measurements according to agreed methodology took place during IPY 1882/83. Comparisons are made between IPY 1882/83 data and that compiled between 1961 and 1990. |
