Record #207446:

A way forward to discover Antarctica's past: report of the Antarctic Geologic Drilling workshop / J.S. Wellner, and 5 others.

Title: A way forward to discover Antarctica's past: report of the Antarctic Geologic Drilling workshop / J.S. Wellner, and 5 others.
Author(s): Wellner, J. S.
Date: 2013.
Publisher: [Houston, TX]: [University of Houston]
Abstract: Report of U.S. National Science Foundation funded workshop held at University of Houston in November 2013 to discuss potential geologic drilling projects and key science objectives in Antarctica. Two priority themes were: study of mid-Cenozoic ice sheet history, when boundary conditions of high atmospheric CO₂ approached estimates for next century, but under different tectonic and ocean cirulation boundary conditions; and Late Quaternary interglacials, when Earth and ocean boundary conditions were similar to present-day and ice retreated landward of current position, though atmospheric CO₂ boundary conditions were 50% lower.
