Abstract: Discusses role of mirage in works by Ukrainian artists Alexander Ponomarev and Sergey Shestakov inspired by visits to Akademik Vernadsky station in Maritime Antarctica, and in designs for mobile museums. Personal Art Museum is made of three interconnected floating mobile cubes with facades featuring liquid water, steam and ice, rising above and going under water; Contemporary Art Museum is 100 m vessel which turns vertically through redistribution of ballast to provide hotel above and gallery below waterline.
