Record #205769:

WTO says morality trumps trade, upholds EU seal ban / Anon.

Title: WTO says morality trumps trade, upholds EU seal ban / Anon.
Date: 2013.
In: Nunatsiaq News. (2013.), Vol. 44(36) (2013)
Abstract: Discusses recent ruling by World Trade Organization (WTO) upholding European Union's ban on importation of seal products on grounds of "public moral concerns". However, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, Canada's national Inuit organisation, believes that there is no reason to object to seal hunting on moral grounds, arguing that various animal species (e.g. deer and wild boar) are hunted in Europe without any rules governing animal welfare or ecosystem management.
