Abstract: Evaluates ethnographic materials of Sergej Sergel from his travels in Norway (Finnmark) and Finland from 1907 to 1908. Sergel offered fresh insights into various ways in which Saami adapted to their harsh environment. He also used various methods to describe difference between Sea Saami and their nomadic co-ethnics.
