Abstract: Reports use of data from pneumococcal nasopharyngeal carriage study in eight rural Alaskan villages to quantify changes in household membership and individual movements form 2008 to 2010. Finds that, in rural Alaska, 52% of households experienced movement of members between 2008-2010 and 11% of individuals changed households. Discusses importance of results for design of studies that measure epidemiological exposure at household level.
