Abstract: | Report on current political, economic and cultural climate in Greenland following inauguration of Greenland Self-Government Act in 2009. Citizens have finally gained recognition in international law and Greenlandic Inuit language, Kalaallisut, is recognized as official language. Major economic developments include investment in hydo-electric power, expansion of oil and gas exploration projects and inauguration of submarine fibre optic cable connecting Greenland with Europe and North America. |
