Record #205038:

Ecophysiological characteristics of the coastal plants in the conditions of the tidal zone on the coasts of Svalbard / Evgenia Markovskaya, Nataliya Schmakova, Liudmila Sergienko.

Title: Ecophysiological characteristics of the coastal plants in the conditions of the tidal zone on the coasts of Svalbard / Evgenia Markovskaya, Nataliya Schmakova, Liudmila Sergienko.
Author(s): Markovskaya, Evgenia.
Schmakova, Nataliya.
Sergienko, Liudmila.
Date: 2012.
In: Czech Polar Reports. (2012.), Vol. 2(2) (2012)
Abstract: Analyses chlorophyll, carotenoid and flavonoid contents in leaves of 26 plant species growing in tidal zone of Grønfjord coast, western Spitsbergen. Finds that most dominant species have high chlorophyll, carotenoid and flavonoid contents. Also finds that plants growing along transect from water line through tidal zone exhibit different modes of adaptation, and that differences are identifiable from photosynthetic pigment content.
