Abstract: Examination of relationship between open skin boat traditions of Unangax/Aleut and Sugpiat, two southernmost indigenous Alaskan peoples who used such craft. Archaeological and ethnographic evidence demonstrates proof of technological exchange and influence within larger region, from Alaska Peninsula to eastern coast of Eurasia, chiefly along trade and war routes.
