Record #204648:

Impact of arithmetic asymmetries on simulated thermodynamic ice-sheet evolution / Fuyuki Saito.

Title: Impact of arithmetic asymmetries on simulated thermodynamic ice-sheet evolution / Fuyuki Saito.
Author(s): Saito, Fuyuki.
Date: 2012.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (2012.), Vol. 58(210) (2012)
Abstract: Presents numerical procedure to preserve symmetries in ice sheet model experiment solutions. Explains importance of maintaining overall symmetries in simulation to avoid perturbations triggered by asymmetries which can cause qualitative differences in simulated ice sheet evolutions. Demonstrates this in ISMIP-HEINO (Ice-Sheet Model Intercomparison Project - Heinrich Event INtercOmparison) experiments.
