Rybak, J.J. Fürst, P. Huĭbrecht︠s︡.
Translated title: Mathematical modelling of ice flow in the north-western part of Greenland and interpretation of deep drilling data at the NEEM camp.

In: Led i Sneg. (2013.), Vol. 4(121) (2013)
Abstract: Presents numerical modelling to support interpretation of NEEM ice core, based on 400-km-square domain at 2.5 km resolution. Modelled present-day surface velocity field agrees well with satellite and GPS measurements. Runs nested ice-sheet model over last two glacial cycles to reconstruct relevant flow history. Uses Lagrangian backtracking to determine particle trajectories of ice drilled at NEEM site, ice chronology and non-climatic biases. Heavily disturbed ice from 2206 m to 2435 m depth and high isotope values indicate presence of ice from previous warm interglacial. Model correctly locates δ¹⁸O maximum of warmest Eemian ice at 2400 m, suggesting that measured contrast between present and Eemian be increased by about 1.5 per mil. Most of non-climatic bias results from upstream advection over ~175 km.
