Record #204291:
Ecosystem change and stability over multiple decades in the Swedish subarctic: complex processes and multiple drivers / Terry V. Callaghan, and 18 others.
Title: | Ecosystem change and stability over multiple decades in the Swedish subarctic: complex processes and multiple drivers / Terry V. Callaghan, and 18 others. |
Author(s): | Callaghan, Terry V. |
Date: | 2013. |
Publisher: | [London]: The Royal Society |
Abstract: | Presents geo-referenced record of environmental and ecosystem observations from Abisko area, northern Sweden since 1913. Overall, results demonstrate that abiotic changes have been dramatic. Many vegetation types have changed (in terms of growth and range expansion) as would have been expected, e.g. upward expansion of birch tree-line, increase in tall and dwarf shrubs, and decline in cryptogams, However, there is also evidence of stable systems, including themophilic aspen clones and pine stands in Abisko valley. |
