Abstract: Describes ecological and physical geographical research undertaken at Stordalen mire, Abisko, Swedish Lapland, in 1970s. Several new measuring methods for ecosystem function were initiated at Stordalen, including measurement of carbon dioxide and methane fluxes between mire and atmosphere. Measurements were also made to calculate energy budget for mire.
