Abstract: Presents estimates of shorebird populations of Prince Charles and Air Force islands, and western portion of Baffin Island, based on foot surveys and intensive nest searching. Most abundant species were red phalaropes (Phalaropus fulicarius) and white-rumped sandpipers (Calidris fuscicollis), totalling 1.5 million individuals (91% of all shorebirds in region). Also reports on study of habitat preference of loons (Gavia spp.)
