Abstract: Describes study in Taymyr Peninsula, Siberia, designed to examine assumption that sedimentary ancient DNA (sedaDNA) is autochthonous with host deposit. Uses optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) and radiocarbon (¹⁴C) dating to constrain ages of inorganic and organic fractions of perennially frozen deposits from which sedaDNA has been recovered. Assesses stratigraphic integrity of sedaDNA sequences with OSL and ¹⁴C age/depth profiles and single-grain equivalent dose distribution characteristics.
